1:45pm - Our team arrives at Myrtles with a 2:00 p.m. check-in awaiting us. We began to roam the grounds, checking out the place. Myrtles is outstanding and breathtaking in beauty and mystery. Without any knowledge of the hauntings of this location, one is overwhelmed with the amount of Spanish moss hanging from the many ancient trees on the grounds.
3 - 4pm - Darren takes a nap in one of the more "active" rooms - the Green Room. This one has been known for visitations from Chloe. He had set up a Hi-8 to record anything. Shortly after falling asleep, he says, "Something touched my hand, and I jerked it back and woke up." This is evident on the tape. He also set a voice-activated recorder in an adjacent room. On playback, the tape contained some odd "ticking" noise. Nothing was in the room to produce that sound. Around that same time, Rob and I were outside of the room Darren was sleeping in and felt the same "pressure on the neck/need to pop the neck" sensation. This was the first instance of this even after walking up and down lugging equipment.
5pm - Rob had completed setting up equipment in the room we would conduct an interview with Mrs. Moss, when he felt he couldn't breathe. He tried to remain calm and called for Darren. Rob was alone in the room. A tear streamed down his right cheek and he said the experience truly scared him.
10pm - All of our monitoring equipment was setup by this time and we also stopped down to eat after a very educational interview with John and Teeta Moss, proprietors of Myrtles. The best pieces of information we learned were that the spirits Teeta has encountered or seen (she took the only known photograph of Chloe) are friendly here - unlike some stories on the internet portray. We were also glad to learn about the family cat, Mert, who many have seen. Mert died a year ago. Later that night, Darren, Rob and I got to meet Mert.
10:30pm - A banana tree leaf, near the spot where Chloe had been photographed was seen rotating in a circle for several minutes. The movement was highly exaggerated, like it was being blown by a breeze from an air vent. There were no vents near the leaf, nor was there a breeze. The leaf stopped once we approached it.
11:30pm - Janis takes some incredible images of energy forms, both "orbs" and "mist," in front of the Caretaker's Cottage. This small shack is set off from the main house and provides a terribly spooky environment.
1:27am - Darren, Rob and I had been wandering the grounds and detecting various cold and freezing-cold spots. We also had set up a Hi-8 to watch the piano that has been reported to play between 1 and 3 a.m.
A cold stream of air, one of many during the night, passed through us on the porch. This time, however, Darren noticed a grey cat looking at us from a porch 20 yards away. I shined my flashlight and identified the figure as a cat but its eyes did not reflect the light - as most animals' eyes would with light shining into them! I fired up the digital camera with the cat walking away. All three of us ran to the cat, which seemed to disappear - quicker than any cat I've ever seen. I ran until the porch railing stopped preventing me from going further and noticed the temperature had dropped dramatically. I snapped a picture and was stunned at what the image showed. The image contained several orbs - all where the cat seemed to have vanished!
1:45am - I hear what sounds like "a young girl, speaking to perhaps another young girl, in a very cheerful voice, like they're telling each other secrets." Were the Woodruffe children chatting about observing us? We could never make out the words, but all agreed that voices were heard.
3:20am - Upon retiring in the Green Room, known for the ghost of a Confederate solider and people being tucked in while they slept, all three of us attempted to get rest. The room was videotaped. Ed Mazzone and his wife Jeannie slept in the Caretaker's Cottage, and Janis slept in another upstairs room.
Conclusions: Rob quickly went to sleep on the floor, snoring like a mad-man. We all had come down from the adrenalin rush. Darren and I kept getting the feeling like something was watching us in the room and the room seemed to produce sounds to indicate something was near Rob. Darren and I began to get very uneasy when the temperature dropped considerably in the room. I had turned the air conditioning up to 70, which shut the unit down, so we knew that cold wasn't from the unit. We finally drifted to sleep and experienced nothing further. Reviewing the tapes, we heard several usually bangs, footsteps and whistling into the camera's microphone.
Ed and Jeannie slept soundly with nothing to report.
Janis watched the dimmer switch in her room go up and down quite slowly, which adjusted the lights. She attempted to photograph the area, hoping to get some image, but nothing was ever present. Upon realizing that the dimming wasn't going to stop and she couldn't get a picture, she went to sleep.
Myrtles is haunted with what seem to be friendly spirits. Too many unexplainable sensations and photography confirmed this.

The images below were all taken very late on Sunday, October 15, and early Monday the 16th.
The first image was the first orb Rick captured. The distant light was not in the frame when the picture was taken.
The second image contains a large orb just to the left of the tree. You might think it's the moon, but again there was no light source in the frame. There also appears to be another orb in the lower left of the picture.
Images three through five were taken within no more than a half-hour's time and from almost the same spot. The first image was taken by Ed Mazzone and contains some mist energy in the upper right mixed in with some orbs. The next has a few orbs in it. The final image is the most striking of mist energy. Janis took the pic and at the time the area was freezing cold.
The final picture is the most interesting as it shows several orbs floating in the air in the spot where Darren, Rob and I saw Mert, the family's year-dead cat, disappear. We were told Mert was and still is a friendly cat.
I was unable to reproduce the picture, ruling out the globes were produced by light reflecting from any source.
