Field Reports from Merrehope - Meridian, Mississippi

Written by: Rick Garner Case Filed: 11/17/00 - Meridian, Mississippi Executive Producer: Rick Garner Darren Dedo, Rob Ruffin and I arrive at Merrehope on Thursday, November 9. The mansion is located just outside of downtown Meridian in a small neighborhood. Its pearl white exterior is a tremendous contrast to the simple homes surrounding Merrehope.

Field Reports from Vicksburg National Military Park - Vicksburg, Mississippi

Written by: Rick Garner Case Filed: 11/11/00 - Vicksburg, Mississippi Executive Producer: Rick Garner 5pm - We all meet at the Texas Monument on Monday evening to examine what Janis has confirmed to be a very active area. This monument marks an area where Union troops stormed up a steep embankment, only to be shot by Confederate soldiers waiting at the top. Janis placed a small cassette recorder on the monument and the tape contains what seems to be voices and light bumps to the microphone. This was before we arrived on scene and when Janis was not near to the monument. 6pm - Rob notices "smoke" coming from the cannon of the bronze structure in his camera's viewfinder as he's rolling footage. He thinks he's imaging things or that someone has placed a cigarette in the cannon. There isn't one. I see the same stream of heat, which seems to come from an object that is cool to the touch. This cannon has been a focal point for activity in some of Ja

Field Reports from King's Tavern - Natchez, Mississippi

Written by: Rick Garner Case Filed: 11/03/00 - Natchez, Mississippi Executive Producer: Rick Garner 4:30pm - Arrived at King's Tavern and began surveying structure. Upon going to Madeline's room, the crew began feeling what I described as "a need to pop my neck - tightness and heaviness upon chest." Rob Ruffin (videographer) agreed that the sensation was similar to what he felt at both the Spengler Hotel in Jackson and McRaven in Vicksburg. Janis Raley, Founder of the Ghost Preservation League, also joins us. 5:05pm - Rob catches a long, flowing shadow out of the corner of his eye in Madeline's upstairs bedroom. He was surprised and somewhat shaken by the experience. Nothing was found that could have produced a shadow in the room. Plus, Rob was quite certain this shadow was not a "normal" shadow. 5:35pm - While interviewing the owner of the Tavern in the restaurant, footsteps were heard upstairs when no one was there. Before the interview,

Field Reports from Myrtles Plantation - St. Francisville, Louisiana

Written by: Rick Garner Case Filed: 10/31/00 - St. Francisville, Louisiana Executive Producer: Rick Garner 1:45pm - Our team arrives at Myrtles with a 2:00 p.m. check-in awaiting us. We began to roam the grounds, checking out the place. Myrtles is outstanding and breathtaking in beauty and mystery. Without any knowledge of the hauntings of this location, one is overwhelmed with the amount of Spanish moss hanging from the many ancient trees on the grounds. 3 - 4pm - Darren takes a nap in one of the more "active" rooms - the Green Room. This one has been known for visitations from Chloe. He had set up a Hi-8 to record anything. Shortly after falling asleep, he says, "Something touched my hand, and I jerked it back and woke up." This is evident on the tape. He also set a voice-activated recorder in an adjacent room. On playback, the tape contained some odd "ticking" noise. Nothing was in the room to produce that sound. Around that same time,
